Reviews

At long last, for the first time in the history of Ghana, the psychiatric nurse is going to be recognized. I am happy to be part of this united body of psychiatric nurses. I look forward to seeing a promising future for psychiatric nursing in Ghana. God bless the founders of PAPNG!

Jonas Owusu (Ankaful Psych. Hosp.)

Irrespective of the daunting challenge that PAPNG will go through, I know we shall overcome. The journey has just begun and I am with joy that the psychiatric nurses have an association that represents our interest. I expect good leadership from the leaders, teamwork, and collaboration.

Doris Afful (Ankaful Psych. Hosp.)

It’s been long overdue. Today we have for ourselves an association that gives us a sense of belonging. I am hopeful, that things will change in the service delivery for our patients and mental health nurses in Ghana. Congratulations to those who sacrificed their time and everything for this historic feat.

Words are not enough to express my joy. I expect to see this association climb to the highest standard and also see to the wellbeing of its members as well as promoting and providing good mental health services across the country and a force to reckon with globally.

I am so overwhelmed with excitement about PAPNG. Mental health issues that have been relegated to the background of the health sector in Ghana will receive the recognition it deserves for a lasting solution. Grateful to the selfless leaders who have braved the storms to ensure that the mental health nurse is heard. PAPNG will surely cross the red sea with massive support from us. Together we shall win!

Hilda K. Koranteng (Ankaful Psych. Hosp.)

Every organization without a reliable association and leadership is like sheep without its shepherd. I believe, Registered Mental Nursing in Ghana has existed too long to be without strong leadership, hence, the lack of progress and attention we see today. PAPNG, can and will be that missing compass for Mental Health Nursing in Ghana. I am very excited about the establishment of this great Association.

Benjamin Tormadogo (Somanya Health Centre, Eastern Region)

MEMBER

I am excited PAPNG has come into being. it has been a long way for this to come to reality. We thank God for that. We hope the voices of its members will be heard and the betterment of all will be realized under this strong umbrella. Together as one, we can make it. Long live PAPNG.

Samuel Gyekye (Ankaful Psych. Hosp.)

MEMBER

It feels great to have an association of your job area. You see yourself as part of the union without discrimination. I will be grateful if the association can give an audience to its members by creating equal opportunities for every member, organizing workshops to improve our practice, and providing a budgetary scheme to support both association and its members.

Stephen N. Quarshie (Ankaful Psych. Hosp.)

MEMBER

I am delighted that PAPNG has been established at long last. This will allow mental health nurses to advocate for quality health care for people with psychological and intellectual problems whiles fighting for the professional common interest. I am optimistic that this organization will have a positive impact on the lives of mental health nurses and patients in general, as well as improve the public perception of mental health treatment in Ghana and around the world. As a result, I urge all mental health nurses to join this association in large numbers so that we may work together to shape our future.

Samuel Boateng (Oda Gov't Hospital)

MEMBER

My expectation seeks to see the association being able to address all challenges of practising mental health nurses and be an advocate for the mentally ill.
